Barb Davis White Runs For Minnesota's Fifth Congressional District
MINNEAPOLIS — October 12, 2009 — Barb Davis White announced that she is running for the Republican seat in Minnesota’s Fifth Congressional District in 2010.
“I’m running for U.S. Congress in the Fifth District to bring liberty, commitment, and integrity to Minnesota and our country,” proclaimed Davis White to a cheering crowd of supporters at a recent rally. “I intend to put an end to rising taxes, which strip our take-home income, feed big government and their programs, and make it difficult for the average American family to thrive and survive. I will work to prevent the numbers of small businesses that have failed in this economy, and I will ensure that people in this state have ample opportunity for employment. When I am elected, Minnesotans will experience positive tangible results rather than hope."
Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District includes Hennepin County to its western border and north to Fridley; Minneapolis to its eastern border and Richfield south to Hwy 494, and all of Anoka County. There are approximately 615,000 people in the district..
In 2008, Barb Davis White ran against Keith Ellison for United States Congress and captured 22% of the votes in her first campaign. In 2010, however, Davis White believes that the concern about the direction of the country and economy will overshadow party lines in favor of conservative fiscal policy and smaller government.
